Whatever the tabloids say about them, the stars certainly know how to holiday in style. Luxury yachts, seven-star hotels, private islands – and campsites. Yes, campsites.

It seems that some celebrities have battened down the hatches as the credit crunch bites, and if you go down to the campsite today, you might just spot an A-lister like Lily Allen (pictured) trying to boil an egg on their primus.
